Riot Games, Verizon, and Apple Prepare for League of Legends: Wild Rift Preview on Twitch

Paramount Studios will be the home for the League of Legends: Wild Rift preview that will be seen on both Twitch and Twitter as a simulcast showcasing mobile gaming as three of the most recognizable companies in their fields come together. At 6:30 p.m. PST, Verizon, along with Riot Games and Apple will present an event as celebrities across various entertainment mediums will all be playing Wild Rift to an audience that is sure to want more.

Former NBA champion Rick Fox, actor Joe Manganiello will compete alongside the likes of professional esports players such as Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black, Emmalee “EMUHLEET” Garrido, William “Meteos” Hartman, and others.

The event will be broadcast live from the New York backlot set at Paramount Studios and will see multiple competitions take place while highlighting the power and connectivity of the three brands as they look to take mobile gaming to its next evolution. Riot Games, the developer of the game, will see its brainchild played on Apple’s newest line of iPhones, the iPhone 12, while using Verizon’s newest 5G network to show the world that mobile gaming has arrived as lag time to the servers has decreased significantly, in the 12-8 millisecond range and sometimes better, on Verizon’s networks.

The Esports Observer got an early look at all the hardware and networking considerations while playing Wild Rift and will have an in-depth look at both the game, hardware, and infrastructure early next week. However, for now, those that are simply wanting to get a sneak peak at this new game along with the new iPhone 12 can do so tonight on Twitch.
