  • Pro View will first be available for the LEC and LCS leagues starting with June’s Summer Split, and will share the revenue with each league’s teams.
  • This is Riot’s second revenue-sharing initiative announced this week, following news of incoming Fan Pass and Team Pass features.

Riot Games Database-Link-e1521645463907 has announced a premium Pro View feature for League of Legends Database-Link-e1521645463907 (LoL) that will provide fans extra viewing perks via the LoL Esports website while sharing revenue with teams from supported leagues.

Launching with the upcoming Summer Splits for the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) and LoL Championship Series (LCS) in June, Pro View lets fans switch between all 10 individual player point-of-view streams in a match. It also provides the ability to see up to four views at once via a customizable split-screen arrangement.

Additionally, Pro View makes it easier to find “big moments” on the match timeline and quickly hop to those, with the same features available for saved videos-on-demand of past events. The feature also bundles in advanced player statistics, and lets users link up with Pro View-owning friends via a unique user-specific URL. Only English caster audio will be available at first, but Riot plans to add other languages.

Riot Games will sell Pro View for $14.99 USD (or regional equivalent) for either one of the two leagues, or $19.99 for a bundle of both. The Pro View revenue will be split between the teams from the chosen league, although details of the split have not been announced. Pro View purchasers will retain access until the World Championship, with future events and seasons to carry their own Pro View passes and separate purchase prices.

Pro View is a purely optional, add-on feature, and League of Legends games will still be streamed for free without the extra elements. Additional leagues and content will be added in the future, according to Riot Games. This is the second revenue-sharing esports initiative launched by Riot Games this week, following the announcement of premium Fan Pass and Team Pass features that share half of the revenue with teams.
