Rio Ferdinand names his ideal Manchester United attacking trio with two new signings

Rio Ferdinand has revealed his ideal attacking line-up for Manchester United (BT Sport)

Rio Ferdinand admits he would love Manchester United to sign Kylian Mbappe and Jadon Sancho to form part of his perfect attacking trio at Old Trafford.

Sancho is one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s priority targets for the summer transfer window, while Borussia Dortmund have admitted that they will not stand in the winger’s way if he wants to leave.

Mbappe, however, looks set to remain with Paris Saint-Germain after another excellent season for the French champions.

And Ferdinand says he would want both players to team up with Marcus Rashford to form United’s new-look attack.

When asked on his Instagram live video to name his ideal attacking trio for United, Ferdinand replied: ‘Rashford, Mbappe, Sancho.

‘That would be a joke.

‘But I don’t know if anyone on the planet has got the money to get Mbappe out of that place.’

Ferdinand also insisted that United would be the best destination for Sancho.

‘I want to see Jadon go a team where he’s going to play, for starters, and have a team and management staff who can help him improve and he can see a pathway to getting trophies,’ said the former United defender.

‘The likes of Barcelona are interested in him but they are too heavily loaded. I think Man United is the place for him to go because I’m biased.

‘If he’s going to wear the No.7 he has to be there for 10 years, that’s what that shirt deserves and demands.’
