Rihanna’s loyal fans have given the singer support as she mourned the loss of her uncle Rudy this week.

Earlier this morning the Umbrella singer posted a shot of her relative alongside her father Ronald Fenty.

The 31-year-old was inundated with caring Navy members as she wrote in the caption: ‘RIP uncle Rudy!’

She didn’t offer up any more information on Rudy’s passing, nor a mention of her dad who had his arm around his sibling.

Many of her 75.5million followers offered prayer hands emojis as the comments section was inundated.

‘So sorry for your loss. RIP,’ another added, as one replied: ‘Rest in peace.’

It comes after Rihanna became embroiled in a lawsuit with her father, taking legal action in January for using her trademark Fenty brand in ‘a fraudulent effort to solicit millions of dollars’ by using her name without permission.

Rihanna filed the lawsuit against her father and another man named Moses Perkins, and a company called Fenty Entertainment.

In the documents, she claims the pair have been ‘soliciting business by falsely acting as her agent’.

The legal papers allege that the pair are ‘seeking to profit from her fame’ and that ‘although Mr Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf’.

The singer also claims that they have falsely booked her for a $15 million (£11.6 million) Latin America tour, two concerts at Staples Center in Los Angeles and a show in Las Vegas, all worth $400,000 (£310,000).

Before the lawsuit, the pair were in regular contact, and she often posted pictures and videos with her father on social media.

They were last seen together in November as they celebrated her maternal grandfather Lionel Braithwaite’s 90th birthday in Barbados.

Rihanna had previously opened up about her somewhat strained relationship with her father after she revealed in 2009 that she saw him abuse her mother Monica Braithwaite – and once broke Monica’s nose.

The singer said that her mother would not seek medical help in the incident and explained why.

‘Domestic violence is not somebody that people want anybody to know, so she would just hide it in the house,’ she told ABC in a 2009 interview.

‘I always said to myself, “I’m never going to date somebody like my dad, never.”‘
