Rihanna gave her Instagram followers quite the shock this weekend when she shared her latest Fenty Beauty promo video featuring her ex Chris Brown’s music.
The Work singer posted a cute clip of her five Fenty Beauty lip glosses chilling by the edge of a pool, alongside the caption: ‘Gang Gang. just me and my #GlossyPosse !!! @fentybeauty [sic].’
In the background Chris’ song Come Together featuring H.E.R. can be heard playing and it’s clear he appreciated the gesture as he commented with a heart emoji.
RiRi’s fans were surprised to see her support his music following the end of their turbulent relationship 10 years ago.
Reacting to the video, one of Rihanna’s followers commented: ‘IS THAT CHRISTOPHER MAURICE BROWN PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND? Oh my soul.’
Another weighed in: ‘All these comments mad about Rihanna playing Chris…. boo’s the only ppl still stuck in the past are yall they been cool so move along [sic].’
In reference to a recent comment from Chris under one of RiRi’s photos, one joked: ‘You tryna tell Chris he can be ya lamp?’
Refusing to support Chris and his music, another said: ‘We not retweeting this one pumpkin.’
In February 2009, the former couple got into a domestic violence incident which left Rihanna, 31, with horrific facial injuries.
Chris, 30, pleaded guilty to felony assault and was sentenced to community service and mandatory anger management classes as well as probation and a restraining order against Rihanna.
The pair did briefly reconcile shortly after the incident but split again for good.
Rihanna is currently happily dating billionaire businessman Hassan Jameel, while Chris was in a five-year relationship with model and actress Karrueche Tran until 2015.
The Loyal singer then went on to father a daughter, five-year-old Royalty, with another woman during a brief fling.
In September, Chris was criticised for lusting over one of Rihanna’s lingerie photos from her Savage x Fenty line.
‘I wanna be the lamp,’ Chris wrote in reference to a prop in the background.
