Rick and Morty showrunners release trailer for new animated series despite season 4 delay

Rick and Morty (both played by Justin Roiland) have experienced an exciting and eventful season four so far. While the latest Adult Swim episode, Rattlestar Ricklactica, placed the duo in a time-travel conundrum, it looks like that was the last time viewers are going to see them on screens for some time. The second half of season four does not have a release date just yet, as they were going to be revealed when they were concluded.

Now, with the growing coronavirus outbreak, the second half of the season has been pushed back further.

With season four’s ending indefinitely put on hiatus, viewers have not been too happy with the circumstances they have been given.

And to make matters even more confusing, this week a trailer for a brand new show from the mind of Justin Roiland has been released.

The new show – titled Solar Opposites – is due to premiere on Hulu on May 8.

However, Reddit user and Rick and Morty fan OwlKnead recently posted in defence of the show’s delay.

They wrote: “Everyone’s complaining about Solar Opposites.

“A lot of people are posting about this show, saying it’s what caused the delays on R&M, and how it is a waste of time. It perplexes me.”

Despite these complaints, the fan went on to point out Rick and Morty season four was always supposed to take some time to arrive.

They went on: “There are countless statements from 2018 talking about how Season 4 was taking time due to contract negotiations.

“Between each season, the creators had no clue whether they’d be renewed and still have a job, so they took on other projects for a paycheck.”

Unfortunately, because of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Rick and Morty will no doubt be delayed further.

Thankfully, fans have been occupying themselves with theories surrounding the deeper lore of Rick and Morty.
