Entertainment reporter Richard Reid was stunned when his handsome date failed to recognise him on Channel 7’s First Dates.
On Wednesday, the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2018 winner, 55, enjoyed dinner with 37-year-old Jonathan at Sydney restaurant Bouche on Bridge.
During the date Jonathan asked Richard what he did for work, to which he responded: ‘I go back and forth between Los Angeles and here… I do some TV presenting.’

The Rockhampton-native surprised him when he said: ‘I don’t really watch TV.’
A stunned Richard said in a piece-to- camera: ‘It was refreshing, but at the same time, when someone is supposed to know who I am, and they don’t know who I am – It was awkward, it was very awkward.’
A few moments later he excused himself to go to the bathroom where he called a friend to update him on the date.

The celebrity gossip guru gave his pal a glowing review of Jonathan calling him cute, and said he was shocked his date did not know who he was.
His friend said: ‘So he think you’re just some random American?’
Richard joked: ‘Some old queen he’s been set up with on a date!’
‘I had to Google him!’ While the celebrity singleton was briefly away, a waitress named Izzy checked in on Jonathan (pictured) who was still clueless to Richard. She was the one who explained that his date was a celebrity correspondent and the 2019 winner of I’m A Celebrity

‘I feel like an idiot!’ he laughed, before adding that he had to ‘Google him’
The date for the pair ended well, and both men agreed to go on a second date, even sharing a quick kiss to seal the deal.
