Husband-and-wife presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan were regular fixtures on our TV screens in the 1990s and mid-noughties. The broadcasters were the first regular hosts of ITV’s This Morning, which they presented for 13 years up until 2001. The couple hosted their own eponymous show for Channel 4 until 2008, before it came to an end on digital channel Watch in 2009. Richard and Judy were married to different people before coupling up but it seems they were meant for one another, going on to have children Chloe and Jack.
Occasional Good Morning Britain host Richard, who still loves the TV limelight, has never been shy in talking about his wife.
In a recent interview, the candid star even admitted to the naughty secret that has kept their love alight for one another for all these years.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, the 63-year-old admitted to still having a “very happy” sex life with his 71-year-old wife.
He said: “I’ve made it a rule never to talk about my sex life, but we have always shared a bed and we still share an en-suite bathroom.
“Having said that, I am very happy with my sex life.”
He added: “And I’ve never had to sleep on the couch.
“The only time I sleep in the spare room now is when I’m doing an early morning show and don’t want to wake Judy up.”
The former journalist also opened up about how the couple have never had to resort to professional help to resolve an argument.
He said: “We’ve never had marriage counselling, and never ever so much as discussed divorce.
“There have been no crisis dinners, nothing. We respect each other, and that’s the key.”
Richard nowadays likes to dish out the advice for other people, acting as a newspaper agony aunt.
But his career has also hit its stride again after he proved incredibly popular with viewers of GMB during a temporary stint.
He is now a regular stand-in for host Piers Morgan when he is away.
In unrelated happy family news, Richard and Judy’s daughter Chloe Madeley has revealed her plans to start a family with husband, rugby star James Haskell.
The fitness instructor, 32, told Hello Magazine: “We’ve gone from one end of the spectrum, where we didn’t want children, to the other end where we thought, ‘yes, let’s try it’.
“Now we’re in the middle, contemplating it as a reality.
“James is made to be a father. He’ll be a brilliant dad.”
