Richard Bacon is set to present his own BBC game show almost two years after he was left in a coma after falling ill with pneumonia.

The 44-year-old television and radio presenter, who was placed in a coma for six days as he battled the condition in both lungs, will front the new series titled This Is My House, according to reports.

The show will be part reality and part game show and will follow four contestants living under the same roof.

One contestant will be the real homeowner, while the other players will also dress the same and claim the owner’s identity in a bid to convince a celebrity panel the house actually belongs to them.

The hopefuls will then be interrogated in the studio before the panel then pick who they believe the real homeowner is and cash prizes will be on the table.

‘The format is up there with Monkey Tennis but BBC bosses wanted Richard at the helm of it,’ an insider said. ‘They think he has the right balance of charm and humour to front such a weird format.’

The source continued to The Sun: ‘It’s been described as The Circle meets Through The Keyhole meets Would I Lie to You?’

A whole host of shows have recently been announced in the UK, with BritBox announcing on Monday that they’re bringing Spitting Image back after 23 years.

Metro.co.uk has contacted both the BBC and Richard’s rep for comment.
