The 2019/20 season has only just begun and Tottenham Hostpur has already seen themselves facing an injury crisis in one position, which was expected to happen but not this early due to their summer transfer window activities.
During the summer, Spurs made a transfer move selling right-back Kieran Trippier to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid without a signing a replacement to fill his void in the club.
The North London club have hugely depended on Kyle Walker-Peters in the right-back position. Only for the youngster to succumb to an injury during their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday leaving them with Serge Aurier as their only option for the right-back position and Juan Foyth is also reported to be injured.
With two defenders in the same position sidelined, Spurs might now be looking to seek out a potential player to sign and Ricardo Pereira is one to look at.
The Leicester City right-back, Pereira, was reported to have sparked an interest in the North London club before joining up the Foxes from Portuguese club FC Porto last summer. And as a result of his performance for the Foxes last season, he was voted Leicester City’s Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season.
Being known for his attacking skills, Pereira would be a great addition to the Spurs’ attack and a perfect right-back signing. Tottenham have always been known for their attacking full-backs with Danny Rose and Manchester City Kyle Walker proving that to be true.
With just one full season in the Premier League, Pereira has already established himself as one of the best-attacking right-backs in the League and he can only improve in his performance, also being one of the fastest in that position.
With betting sites releasing some interesting odds for a possible departure to White Hart Lane as Leicester City have always sold their better players at the right price.
Last season, Pereira was able to manage two goals and provided six assists in his first English Top Flight campaign.
