RHOC star Gina Kirschenheiter's ex Matthew charged with two felonies after alleged domestic violence

Matthew Kirschenheiter, the estranged husband of The Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter, was reportedly charged with two felonies on Wednesday.

The Orange County D.A. charged Matthew with domestic violence and false imprisonment stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident on June 22, according to TMZ.

At the time, the 35-year-old Long Islander filed for a restraining order from Kirschenheiter claiming he ‘inflicted corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition.’

A judge has yet to sign off on Gina’s pending divorce from Matthew, with whom she has three children – son Nicholas, 7; daughter Sienna, 5; and son Luca, 4.

Gina narrowly evaded going to jail on Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County after a lawyer’s mistake caused her to miss a court date for a DUI charge, and the local sheriff issued a warrant for her arrest.

The mother-of-three was scheduled to be in court to face her arrest for a DUI in Orange County back in February, but had been mistakenly told her attorney put in a continuance.

She was devastated to find out that information was incorrect, and he had left her hanging.

‘My attorney put in to postpone this arraignment date, but he didn’t check to confirm that it actually was accepted, and it was denied,’ Gina revealed. “So as far as the court’s concerned, I just didn’t show up.’

‘I feel so vulnerable,’ she cried to pal Shannon Beador, 55, over the phone. ‘I could have been arrested today.’

Shannon, who knew that Gina’s family depended on her, connected her with a lawyer friend who got the warrant recalled.

‘Sheriffs were going out to arrest you today, but that’s been called off,’ he told Gina.

‘It’s so terrifying to think my kids could have seen that,’ Gina sighed.

Relieved by the news, she felt emboldened to tell Shannon about something that had been troubling her for ages.

Her estranged husband Matt had been conducting a long-term affair with a woman he was still seeing.

She knew Shannon could relate, as her husband David also cheated on her.
