Report: Bilibili Secures Publishing Rights to Mobile Version of Fall Guys in China

Bilibili has secured the publishing rights for a mobile version of the popular battle royale game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout in Mainland China, according to news unearthed by Niko Partners Senior Analyst Daniel Ahmad on Saturday via social media. According to this Bilibili product page, the Chinese mobile version of Mediatonic’s game will be called “Jelly Bean: The Ultimate Knockout.”

Fall Guys was released on Aug. 4 for the PC and PlayStation 4, and has been at the top of Twitch viewership charts since release, mainly due to capturing the attention of high-profile streamers. The game has sold 2M copies since its launch on Steam earlier this month and is available for free and as a full purchase) on PS4.

A rep. for Mediatonic told The Esports Observer that a mobile version of the game is in the works, but couldn’t provide details on the timing and features.

Bilibili is deeply tied into the Chinese esports industry as both a streaming platform and as the owner of the esports team Bilibili Esports. In August it secured broadcasting rights (alongside other Chinese streaming platforms such as DouYu, Huya, and Penguin Esports) for the League of Legends World Championship in Shanghai and the Chinese rights to international LoL esports events. Bilibili Esports, the esports arm of the company, signed a broad strategic partnership deal with China’s Ping An Bank.
