A TORY peer and Eurocrat Michel Barnier denounced Brexit last night claiming voters were “wrong”.
Baroness Patience Wheatcroft said Brits voted to leave because they were “very disgruntled with life in general” and “very uncomfortable in their own skins”

She insisted that Britain was a “remain country”.
And Brussels’ chief negotiator Barnier blamed Brexit on “nostalgia” as Brits try and return to a powerful global Britain.
Their comments sparked an immediate backlash as they were accused of insulting 17.4 million Leave voters.
Peer Baroness Wheatcroft, 67, told LBC presenter Nick Ferrari said the Tories had done so badly in the EU Parliament elections because of their failure to deliver Brexit.
The peer said: “Demographically, because of the changes by January this year, even if nobody who voted in the referendum in 2016 changed their mind, by January this year we became a Remain country.
“And the polls show you we’re a Remain country now.”

THE sheer snobbery of Baroness Wheatcroft’s Brexit tirade is simply staggering.
We know there are plenty of Remainer elites who think every Leave voter must be thick. But it’s rare for one of them to come out and actually say it.
The UK? “A Remain country.” Brexiteers? “They’re wrong.” Where they come from? “Not terribly pleasant.” Why did they vote out? “They’re uncomfortable in their own skin.” It’s delusional and demeaning.
Who does this unelected non-entity think she is to lecture 17.4 million Brits? And quite what she’s doing in the Brexit-backing Tory party is a mystery to us.
Does she realise it’s her arrogant attitude that meant she and her establishment mates lost in 2016? Clearly not.
Precious few Europhiles have given any thought to the reasons behind the 2016 vote. Instead they smear just over half the country as backward-looking and beyond help.
Even Michel Barnier seems to think it’s because we’re pining for the days of Empire, rather than to take control of our laws and borders.
If the Second Referendum crowd really think Britain is about to change its mind — despite the huge number of votes for the Brexit Party last week — they need to think again.
Every time people like Wheatcroft open their mouths, they give one more reason we’re better off out.
She added: “People who are opposed to the EU are not just opposed to the fact they’re part of a greater whole — Europe — they’re very uncomfortable with the situation in this country and in their own skins”.
It was “because a lot of Conservatives are pro-Europe and the party that they’ve previously voted for has moved in a direction that they find very strange and uncomfortable.”
Barnier told the Daily Express: “Looking at the causes of Brexit, we also find typically British reasons: the hope for a return to a powerful global Britain – nostalgia for the past.
“Nostalgia serves no purpose in politics.”
He warned: “If the choice is to leave without a deal, fine. If the choice is to stay in the EU, also fine.
“But if the choice is still to leave the EU in an orderly manner, this treaty is the only option. This is all that our legal constraints allow.”
He added: “In my country, too, some politicians prefer to live in the past. But there were also people voting for Brexit who simply don’t want to accept rules.”
