Regé-Jean Page just made a super rare public appearance with his girlfriend Emily Brown, shattering hearts the world over

Regé-Jean Page has captured the nation’s world’s hearts. Ever since we watched him play the dreamy Duke of Hastings in Netflix’s Bridgerton, he’s been living rent free in all of our heads, spoon in mouth. So, you can imagine our devastation we found out that 1: he has a long-term girlfriend; and 2: they just made their first public appearance together, so we can’t pretend she isn’t real anymore. Okay, no shade here: they look super happy together.

The couple attended the GQ Men of The Year Awards 2021 in London on Wednesday night, where Regé was honoured with an award for Stand Out Performance of The Year for his role as Simon Bassett (aka the Duke) on Bridgerton. His girlfriend, Emily Brown, was there to support her man, walking in to the ceremony with him, hand in hand.

It’s the first time the couple have been spotted together since the news of their relationship was first revealed by the Daily Mail back in February, when paparazzi shots of the two hugging on a North London sidewalk emerged, shattering hearts all over the world. At the time, the publication reported that Regé and Emily were in a long-term relationship and had bought a house together in early 2020.

Since shooting to fame following Bridgerton‘s release in December last year, the 31-year-old actor has kept his personal life private, remaining tight-lipped about his relationship. Emily, 30, has also kept herself out of the limelight, with no social media accounts to her name.

According to Entertainment Tonight, she is a football player and freelance copy writer who does work for the likes of Nike, Converse, and Uber. Not much else has been revealed about Emily or her career but perhaps the couple’s GQ Awards debut is their first step in opening up to fans a little more.

Either way, we’re happy for them! Even if it does mean that our pipe dreams of a happily ever after with Regé have been absolutely shattered.
