Real estate secures first build-to-rent qualification

A manager at property firm Rettie has become the first in Scotland to achieve a build-to-rent focused real estate qualification.

Senior resident services manager Sharon Ross became an Institute of Residential Property Management (IRPM) Member – the only qualification of its kind in the UK.

Rettie is putting its whole build-to-rent team through the course to deal with the fast-growing sector.

Gillian McLees, director of BTR operations at Rettie said: “We are delighted that Sharon has become the first in Scotland to achieve this industry-recognised qualification, which promotes professionalism and not only technical competence.”

This week, Forth Ports’ 234-home Harbour Gateway welcomed its final residents in the largest build-to-rent project of its kind in Scotland. It was funded by City of Edinburgh Council and Scottish Futures Trust on behalf of the Scottish Government, through the National Housing Trust. Rettie & Co has now been involved with 785 build to rent homes.
