Cats cleaned up at this year’s Razzie Awards – which the show’s cast and crew might not be happy to hear.

The widely-panned musical from director Tom Hooper took home the most trophies at the ceremony, which hands out awards to the films they deem the worst of the past year.

The film, starring Taylor Swift and James Corden, took home a total of six awards with the Gavin and Stacey star getting the Razzie for worst supporting actor.

And the burns kept coming as Rebel Wilson was given worst support actress, Hooper got worst director and Cats took the ‘big’ prize, worst film.

Based on the musical of the same name by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cats was savaged by cinema goers and critics alike for its peculiar use of CGI on its stars to make them look like feline friends.

Sylvester Stallone-starrer Rambo: Last Blood was awarded worst remake, rip-off or sequel and worst reckless disregard for human life and property.

Jason Derulo was also in the cast (Picture: Universal Pictures)

Hilary Duff’s turn in The Haunting of Sharon Tate and John Travolta’s performance in The Fanatic and Trading Paint earned them both worst actress and worst actor Razzies respectively.

The 2020 Razzies winners were announced after the ceremony itself was cancelled last minute on Saturday amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

‘I didn’t read anything about the response to [Cats] nor have I seen it.’
