Gaming hardware and peripheral maker Razer has been announced as the official esports partner of gamescom Asia 2020, next year’s regional offshoot of the long-running German videogame convention.

Gamescom Asia will be held at Singapore’s Suntec Singapore convention center from Oct. 15-18, 2020, which includes both trade conference and public exhibition days. The event is expected to draw more than 30,000 attendees, and Razer will curate and oversee the esports and gaming zone as both the esports partner and advisory committee member.

“This partnership is the perfect opportunity to bring a unique consumer experience to gamescom Asia, and we are excited to have Razer onboard as our first official esports partner,” said Koelnmesse Pte Ltd. Managing Director Mathias Kuepper, in a release. “Together, we will scale-up the playing field for the gaming industry in the region.”

Koelnmesse’s annual gamescom event in Cologne, Germany, is recognized as the world’s largest gaming convention, drawing an estimated 373,000 visitors this past August. Gamescom Asia, organized by Koelnmesse Singapore and The German Games Industry Association (a.k.a. “game”), is the first regionalized edition of the decade-old convention.
