Rapper YG reports 'over $400,000 in personal jewelry' was 'stolen' from his LA hotel room on NYE


YG has reported that over $400,000 of his jewelry was stolen from his hotel room.

The 29-year-old rapper filed a police report on Monday, citing a theft that allegedly took place on New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.

The robbery reportedly took place ‘sometime between 11 PM on NYE and 11 AM the next morning’ according to the gossip site.

YG -whose real name is Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson- said the valuables were taken from a briefcase in his room at The London in West Hollywood. 

The Go Loko hitmaker told police ‘he noticed the missing valuables’ on New Year’s Day, but waited five days to report the theft, said TMZ. 

Police do not yet have any suspects in the case.

The theft caps off a rough 2019 for the Toot It and Boot It artist, who recently apologizing to the LGBTQ community for his insensitive views in the past.

The Compton native took to Twitter on Wednesday to apologize for his ‘ignorant’ views.

The post was received positively, with over 1,600 retweets and 13,500 likes since posting it on Wednesday night.

‘It’s been brought to my attention that my old views on life was ignorant,’ YG (which stands for Young Gangster) began.

‘I apologize to the LGBTQ kommunity for ever komin across like i was anything but respectful and accepting. Live. Love. Ya Life. Gang!’ he concluded.

He didn’t specify what ‘old views on life’ he’s referring to, or if he’ll elaborate any further about his views in the future.

The rapper made headlines in late October after he denied claims he was cheating on his girlfriend, singer Kehlani, 24.

YG was spotted outside the Poppy Nightclub in Los Angeles where he appeared to be kissing another woman from his car.

He released a terse statement on Instagram denying that he was cheating on her, stating, ”I love Kehlani. I would never.’

The rapper’s representatives later released a statement that maintained the kiss was just a ‘drunken moment.’

‘He was drunk, got carried away and it was very regretful for putting himself in that situation and hurting #Kehlani,’ wrote YG’s representatives.

‘He has no romantic connection to the girl, just a drunken moment carried away,’ the statement concluded.

YG is no stranger to controversy, having been handcuffed outside an LA nightclub for ‘reckless driving’ in June.

He also made headlines for calling a fan on stage and then kicking him out of his October concert when he refused to sing his 2016 song F*** Donald Trump.

He was also seen verbally attacking a fan in Melbourne for wearing a Tekashi 6ix9ine t-shirt, who he has a long-standing feud with.
