Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame is not – we repeat, not – a fan of the viral Flip The Switch challenge.

The TikTok-popular challenge typically involves someone selfie-filming themselves dancing and lip-syncing to the Drake song Nonstop in front of a mirror.

At the moment after Drake raps the lines ‘Look, I just flipped a switch’, the clip swiftly cuts to black before the light returns to reveal the participant doing something very funny.

Take, for instance, Jennifer Lopez and her boyfriend Alex Rodriguez’s take on one of the most popular forms of the Flip The Switch challenge, which sees a man and a woman swapping clothes after the light switch is flipped.

Waka Flocka, though, just isn’t that crazy about this iteration of the particular social media craze.

‘Never will I act or dress like a female,’ he declared on Instagram yesterday (15 March) after saying that the challenge was ‘making me realise a lot’.

‘Not for promo. Not for comedy and damn sure not for a f***ing challenge.

‘Where’s the be a real man challenge,’ he continued, his masculinity evidently threatened. ‘It’s like being feminine [is] a wave.’

#WhatTheFlocka are you on about, Flocka?

The subsequent pile-on in the comments section has been largely critical of Flocka, with one follower writing: ‘Small minded, and probably homophobic. It’s a stupid internet joke. Like…. wtf.’

Another chimed in: ‘Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, Will Smith, Dave Chapelle have all dressed in drag for a movie. JUST SAYIN.’

As The Shade Room points out, even Flocka’s wife Tammy Rivera thought her husband’s opinion was trash as she commented: ‘WAKA no one cares let ppl enjoy themselves damn…’

We reckon the Flip The Switch challenge will shake off this slight hiccup and continue to dominate our timelines.

That’s even more certain given that more and more people are going to have to find ways to make it through coronavirus-imposed self-isolation
