Rapper Lexii Alijai confirmed dead by cousin in heartbreaking Facebook post


Rising rap star Lexii Alijai’s death has been confirmed by her cousin in an emotional Facebook post.

The 21-year-old who was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota and was looking to have a bright future after breaking into the Billboard Hot 100 with her collaboration with American singer Kehlani Parrish.

Lexii – real name Alexis Alijai Lynch – passed away on January 1, with the tragic news being confirmed by her cousin Raeisah Clark.

She posted a tribute to Alijai on her page, which read: “You’re a real legend. If you know or heard her music you’d feel chills. Rest in paradise you’ll never be forgotten!

Lexii Alijai has died aged 21

“I’m so lost for words…my beautiful cousin with so much talent & Unique soul Lexii Alijai It’s too soon.”

This was followed by an emotional message from LaMycha N Jett who posted on Facebook after hearing the news.

She wrote: “They say don’t question God, but damn why you baby. This thing called life is crazy as hell. My heart is broken.

American singer Kehlani Parrish, who featured Lexi Alijai – real name Alexis Alijai Lynch – on her track Jealous, was among the first to share the tragic news.

She tweeted: “jus got the worst fuckin news ever. my heart is BROKE. F***.”

“weakest saddest way to start a new year – i’m off this happy new year please please please please be safe out here – love on your people -please…. it’s hard to have so much faith in god and that everything happen for a reason cuz it’s s*** i can’t imagine there ever being a reason for – why bro.”

Lexii was born on February 19, 1998 and attended Creative Arts Secondary School in Minnesota.

Her burgeoning music career had gained a following after she rapped over artists such as Drake and Nas before dropping out of school to pursue her career full time.

Her first full length album, Super Sweet 16, was released on her birthday before she followed that with a mixtape with Shaun Sloan entitled Same Struggle.
