Aitch has announced that he’ll be taking time away from social media after sharing a poem about fame being ‘lonely’.

The Manchester rapper has been less active on his Instagram account in recent months and previously deleted most of his photos leaving just two – one from 2019 and a promotional post in March this year.

However on Tuesday, he took to his Instagram stories to share a photo of a handwritten poem, which said: ‘It’s hard following your brain when your soul don’t care… it still feels like no one’s there.

‘Sitting on my throne with a open stare, cos to me it’s just a broken chair.’

Sharing an insight on how he’s found his meteoric rise to fame over the past two years, Aitch continued: ‘I love it at the top but s**t, it’s cold up there. I kinda found out how it feels to be alone up there.

‘Looking for some hope it never showed up there, but f**k it I’m a soldier I can cope up there.

‘Heart numb s**t don’t feel the same all the money in the world wouldn’t heal the pain. All the hunnies and the girls wanna deal with Aitch, but they’d deal with him too, if he steals my name.’

The poem went on: ‘Back then I used to pray they’d know me. It’s like I got famous and became so lonely.

‘Kicks back and think as I burn my spliff, just block the world out and watch the day go slowly,’ before signing off with his name.

In the next story, he simply told his followers: ‘Back soon,’ with a heart emoji.

Aitch, real name Harrison Armstrong, took the charts by storm in 2019 with his hit single, Taste (Make It Shake), reaching number two on the UK charts. He’s also well known for the songs Buss It Down, Strike a Pose featuring Young T and Bugsey and the Keisha & Becky remix.

The 21-year-old also teamed up with Ed Sheran and Stormzy on the remix for their number one single Take Me Back To London.

Robbie Williams once revealed himself to be a fan of the rapper’s music and filmed himself lip-syncing to Taste.

Opening up about his rise to fame, Aitch told The Guardian in 2020: ‘I actually blew up, it just went crazy. I had all these record labels phoning me so I had to be like: “Yo, grandad, I’m not coming into work, I’m going to London to meet Sony and Universal”.

‘And then I just feel like I blinked and now I’m here.’

Perhaps Aitch will resurface in time for the Brit Awards in May as he’s nominated for British single with his track Rain featuring AJ Tracey.
