Malek said he will give his co-star “a run for his money” in the upcoming film
Rami Malek has confirmed that Bond 25 will be Daniel Craig’s “last” appearance in a 007 movie.
The latest actor to play James Bond first appeared as the iconic secret agent in 2006’s Casino Royale. Since then, he has filled the role in three other Bond movies, most recently with 2015’s Spectre.
During an interview on Good Morning America yesterday (April 25), Malek said of starring in Bond 25: “It’s going to be thrilling, and it’s Daniel’s last film.”
“I know, it’s sad,” he said, as the studio was filled with disappointment. “But I’m going to give him a run for his money.”

Earlier in the chat, Malek praised Craig for how he played the infamous character. “I think Daniel has just done an outstanding job in making him, in a way, relatable,” he explained. “Obviously, there’s a lot of things that none of us can do as James Bond.
“He brings this class to it and this human factor. He’s kind of cynical at the same time and ruthless, but you’re always rooting for him. He’s been terrific. It will be very interesting to go up against that man.”
Yesterday, the cast and location for the new film were revealed at a special live event. Malek will play an as-yet-unnamed villain in the film, while Ben Whishaw will return as Q and Ralph Fiennes will play M. Léa Seydoux and Naomie Harris will also appear as Madeleine Swann and Eve Moneypenny, respectively.
Bond 25 is currently due for release on April 8, 2020. It will be directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (Maniac, Beasts Of No Nation) after previous director Danny Boyle quit last year over “creative differences”.
