Countdown star Rachel Riley has discussed enjoying the experience of lockdown as it’s brought her closer to her husband.

Sweet. And, for some, relatable (albeit, depending on your living situation, not for all!)

The TV presenter, who is married to Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev, who she married in Vegas last year, also welcomed a baby daughter, Maven, in December 2019.

‘It’s one of those things where you feel slightly guilty for enjoying aspects of lockdown. We’re in a really fortunate position,’ Rachel told The Sun.

‘All of our work’s gone but we’re not having to struggle in that sense. Pasha would have been away with tours and cruises dancing had it not been for lockdown so he’s enjoying time with us.’

Rachel added: ‘I feel guilty all my friends, or most of them, had a period where they were left alone with the baby.

‘From morning until night they’re having to do all the work, and I’ve got Pasha and his mum here all the time and the baby’s really benefiting from it in a lot of ways.’

However, Rachel’s been open about finding some parts of lockdown tough.

Speaking to Radio Times, Rachel revealed that Pasha has been out of work so it’s been ‘tough’ not being able to see her parents.

‘It’s tough on my parents — my mum had coronavirus,’ she explained.

‘Thankfully she’s recovered now, but this is her first granddaughter and she can’t see her. We can FaceTime but it’s not the same as squidging a baby.’
