Question Time: Tory teen tells smirking Farage she'll back him over May's Brexit

Nigel Farage was unable to contain his glee as a teenage Tory activist announced she would back his Brexit Party.

The 19-year-old woman let rip at Tory ministers on the BBC’s Question Time in Northampton.

Speaking after Spurs’ and Liverpool’s football success she said: “I can’t believe we’re still having this debate. The only things left in Europe should be Liverpool and Tottenham!”

The activist turned on Remain-backing former Tory MP Anna Soubry, who now represents the Change UK party.

She said: “Anna, if you would like another referendum why can’t we use the EU elections as another referendum?

“I’ve been a member of the Conservative Party since I was since. I’m now 19. I’ve canvassed for them.

“But the party has let us down and I will be voting for the Brexit Party in the European elections.

“That seems to me a democratic way of having a second referendum.”

Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage smirked with glee as the remark was made.

The woman’s comments echo the Tories’ greatest fears as the party approaches EU Parliament elections on May 23.

Tory officials fear they will be wiped out by protest votes for the Brexit Party, coming in as low as sixth place.

Unlike Labour , the Lib Dems and other rivals, Conservatives have failed to produce a manifesto or a launch event.

Meanwhile the Tory party is in open warfare about whether to crash out of the EU with no deal or continue compromise ‘soft Brexit’ talks with Labour.
