Queen’s Brian May shares Freddie Mercury, John Deacon photos ahead of New Orleans return

Queen and Adam Lambert still have a few shows to go in the North American leg of their Rhapsody Tour. And their next stop tomorrow evening is at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Centre. Brian May posted a couple of pictures on Instagram of Queen in their heyday there, alongside the late Freddie Mercury and the retired John Deacon. Brian wrote: “Hello New Orleans ! We’ve missed you. And that ain’t no lie. Let’s rock !!! Bri.”

In a new documentary that aired this year in the US called The Show Must Go On: The Queen and Adam Lambert Story, May and Taylor opened up about Deacon’s departure for a quiet life.

Taylor said: “John freaked out and decided he really couldn’t deal with being in the music business anymore, It was an odd period. Really the band was over.”

Deacon wasn’t involved in the creation of the Freddie Mercury movie Bohemian Rhapsody either.

However, Taylor revealed Deacon gave his blessing to whatever the two remaining members of Queen want to do with the brand.
