QikServe teams up with FreedomPay for global expansion

QikServe, the Edinburgh-based company that lets customers place orders and pay bills from their restaurant tables, has teamed up with global payments provider FreedomPay to expand its reach across Europe and North America.

The two companies have signed an agreement to resell each other products. They had previously worked together on other projects, including a food and drink ordering kiosk in airport fast food outlets across the United States for dining operator HMSHost.

Under the deal, restaurants and other hospitality operators will be able to use QikServe’s system to give customers a range of options for ordering food and drink, while FreedomPay’s system will give them a selection of choices for how to pay. FreedomPay also has data analytics functions that enable restaurants to track customers’ purchases without accessing their confidential credit or debit card information.

Daniel Rodgers, founder of QikServe, said: “We’re excited to be working in partnership with FreedomPay, which gives us the ability to provide its excellent payment gateway service directly to our customers, aligning with our strategy to develop payments-as-a-service (PaaS) specifically for hospitality. FreedomPay’s leadership in tokenisation technology is very well-suited to restaurant brands that want to make the shift to truly seamless customer-centric loyalty programmes.”

Tom Durovsik, founder and chief executive of FreedomPay, added: “We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with QikServe and look forward to jointly building our global presence. By joining the FreedomPay Commerce Platform, QikServe will be able to offer their customers a personalised seamless, smart experience at checkout.”
