PUBG Nations Cup to Bring $500K Global Tournament to Seoul

PUBG Corporation will host a global PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS Database-Link-e1521645463907 (PUBG) tournament in August called the PUBG Nations Cup, which will have a $500K prize pool.

Held at the Jangchung Arena in Seoul, South Korea, on August 9-11, the PUBG Nations Cup will bring together the top PUBG players from 16 countries across five continents, with four players chosen for each squad. Each country’s players will be chosen by their competitive peers or via other methods, according to a release.

“Nations Cup, the first PUBG-hosted global esports event of the year, is the embodiment of international competition, which brings together the top players from around the world to represent their countries,” said PUBG Corporation director of central esports Jake Sin, in a release. “Nations Cup will close out an exciting summer of PUBG esports and we look forward to continuing that momentum throughout the rest of the year.”

The PUBG Esports season is currently in Phase 2, which will end in June. Stockholm’s GLL Grand Slam: PUBG Classic (hosted by G-Loot) takes place from July 19-21, with Bangkok’s MET Asia Series: PUBG Classic (from MET Events) to follow on July 26-28.

The PUBG Nations Cup takes place before Phase 3 of the season begins in September, and it will be the year’s final global tournament before the $2M 2019 PUBG Global Championship in November.
