PUBG Mobile Lite is only available in certain regions since its launch earlier this year and is now starting to see new content releases.
Developers Tencent launched its latest update this week, with PUBG Mobile Lite 0.14.0 available to download now on Android.
Unlike the original version of PUBG Mobile, PUBG Lite has been designed to run on lower specced phones and devices.
It takes up less room and is designed to run on devices with less than 2GB of RAM, which is welcomed news for those with multiple apps.
It also opens PUBG Mobile up to a much larger audience, with the app currently only available in certain regions.
However, the good news is that PUBG Mobile Lite is coming to new regions this month, with a release in Europe and North and Central America also being planned for later this year.
Where PUBG Mobile Lite has become available to download, it has quickly climbed the charts to become one of the most popular games around.
“In just a few short weeks since launch, PUBG MOBILE LITE has already claimed the number one spot among free-to-download games on Google Play in multiple regions including Turkey, India, etc,” a message from Tencent explains.
“PUBG Mobile Lite will release in Russia and certain regions of CIS and Africa on Thursday, Aug. 29.
“PUBG Mobile Lite also recently received a “New Game” recommendation and promotion on Google Play.
“PML is now available to download and play on the Google Play Store in several regions of South Asia, Africa, with a North and Central America launch scheduled soon.
“It boasts a smaller download size and supports more mobile devices with less than 2GB RAM.”
And as mentioned above, today saw Tencent release a new content update for PUBG Mobile Lite on Android.
The development has already warned that the LITE version will be updated based on user feedback, with no fixed schedule in place for further patches.
It should also be noted that PUBG Mobile Lite is a different version of the game to the normal PUBG Mobile.
This means that you can’t play with friends using the original version and it’s currently unclear when the game will arrive on iOS.
