PS5 game REVEALED: Bad news for Xbox Scarlett, as PlayStation powerhouse is confirmed

The PS5 may already have the upper hand on the Xbox Scarlett, as Sony confirms plans to release a PlayStation powerhouse on the new console.

With the next-gen console wars already starting to gain momentum, Sony may have just delivered a killer blow to Microsoft.

In a fascinating interview with GT Planet, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi recently spoke about the future of the racing series.

Not only would Yamauchi confirm that the next entry of the popular racing sim was in development, but he would also give fans a taste of what to expect.

“I think in terms of races themselves and physics GT Sport has really reached the best place that we’ve ever reached – we’re at a very good place,” he explains.

“On the other hand, obviously we’re working on the next Gran Turismo already, and the world of sport we’ve achieved through GT Sport is something I’ve always imagined to be the future of Gran Turismo. We were able to establish that now.”

According to Yamauchi, the new game will look to past releases for inspiration, and may also support VR.

“I think the next title that we’re going to create will be a combination of the past, present and future – a complete form of Gran Turismo,” he revealed, before revealing what the company will do with added next-gen processing power.

“The first thing that’s going to be affected by more power is VR,” he continues.

“I don’t think that there’s anything else that requires that much processing power. I really like VR; I’m one to believe in the possibilities of it, and it’s very suited for a driving game.

“VR is something that really depends on the evolution of GPU power, and the hardware for it, like display devices even. It’s something where you can never have enough computing power; there’s always going to be that hardware limit, and that limit is never going to be high enough for us!

“Obviously that’s going to gradually improve over time and we’ll make sure to follow that.”

Based on Yamauchi’s comments, it looks like the next-gen console wars will kick off with a skirmish between Forza vs Gran Turismo.

It was recently revealed that the PS5 will support 8K resolution, ray-tracing and have much faster loading times.

The speedy (or non-existent) loading times are possible thanks to the specialised solid-state drive, which will make a huge difference to processing speeds.

In Spider-Man on a PS4 Pro, for example, it can take upwards of 15 seconds to fast travel from one location to another. The PS5, on the other hand, will be able to handle the same task in less than a second.

Worlds can also be rendered at far greater speeds, which should inject more pace into games.

This will come in especially handy for racing games, where players whizz around courses at incredible speed.
