PS5 Console: UK restock dates, where to buy and more

Stock issues have plagued Sony and its loyal fans since the PlayStation 5’s launch in 2020, with out

With the new PS Plus Extra feature coming to the console soon, which promises to offer a vastly expanded range of games and draw in new players.

So where can you buy a new or second-hand PS5 console and when will they be back in stock?

Where can I buy a PS5 console?

Most mainstream retailers, such as Amazon, Argos, Game, and even PlayStation themselves are nearly or completely out of stock.

Other options online are available, but they will either cost you an extraordinary amount of money or be a bundle, where you will be made to pay more but get a game or two with it.

These include Hughes, which is selling a £669 bundle with FIFA 22 and Sackboy, a remote control and its charger. For £629, value store Studio has the console alongside Horizon: Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 and a controller. Base does a similar deal with a few added extras, but it is currently out of stock.

The Game Collection is also doing a bundle offer which is currently in stock for £720, featuring Elden Ring, Deathloop, Back 4 Blood, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Watch Dogs Legion, Fortnite The Last Laugh Bundle and Mortal Kombat 11.

BT is currently offering a special deal to new customers, where if you sing up to one of its broadband packages, you will get a special code to buy a console. It does say on the company’s website, however, that it too has run out of stock for the moment.

Supermarkets, department stores and specialist stores also occasionally restock PS5 consoles, with Asda, Tesco, John Lewis, Maplin, and Curry’s all offering the consoles to customers when they have it to hand.

When are stores restocking PS5s?

There are no fixed dates for stock releases, as companies will receive their orders at different times. Some haven’t been able to restock since the beginning of this year, while others magically still have some available.

With Amazon, we are likely to see a new dump of PS5 stock – including new bundles – in time for Prime Day.

If you want to know straight away when new stock drops, however, you can sign up to emails from suppliers, who will drop an email to your inbox the moment they become available. PlayStation themselves have a mailing list, as well as Amazon in the US and

Alternatively, website Stock Checker has a neat app which allows you to track stock in real time. They also have a Twitter account which sends out live tweets as stock is released.
