PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch gamers should be saving one upcoming date in the diary.
In just under two weeks time some major gaming announcements could be made from the leading players of the industry.
On Monday August 19 a special broadcast will be held just before Gamescom 2019, Europe’s biggest gaming trade show, opens its doors.
Gamescom Opening Night Live will see more than 15 game publishers premiere new content and make new announcements.
Big names including Sony, EA, Capcom, Google, Xbox, Sega, Activision, Bandai Namco, Square Enix, Ubisoft and Bungie will be making announcements.
It’s an impressive roster of names, and the Gamescom event will also be hosted by one of the biggest personalities in the industry – Geoff Keighley.
Ahead of the start of the Gamescom event the Game Awards mastermind said an “exciting” show was planned.
Keighley tweeted: “More than 15 game publishers will premiere new content and make announcements during @gamescom Opening Night Live.
“An exciting show is coming together for Monday, August 19! Hope you get to tune in and watch the stream!”
Fans have already been given a taster of a few announcements that look set to be made during Gamescom Opening Night.
Keighley has already revealed that video game auteur Hideo Kojima will be joining him on stage at Gamescom Opening Night Live.
The Metal Gear Solid visionary will be there to present an exclusive new look at highly anticipated PS4 exclusive Death Stranding.
It has also been revealed that Sega will be unveiling a mystery AAA title during Gamescom 2019.
The title is “an all-new AAA game that has yet to be revealed to the public”.
Elsewhere, on the same day that the Gamescom Opening Night Live event takes place Google will be holding a Stadia Connect stream.
The Stadia Twitter revealed the news, saying that Stadia Connect is “back and bigger than ever”.
The Stadia Twitter posted: “Let’s do it again. On 8/19, #StadiaConnect is back and bigger than ever.
“Tune in at 10AM PDT / 7PM CEST for all the details – then come get hands-on with the future of gaming for yourself at our #Gamescom booth!”
In other Gamescom news, Square Enix have revealed that they will be bringing their two biggest upcoming games to the trade show in Cologne.
A demo for Marvel’s Avengers will be available for gamers to play in a worldwide first.
While for the first time in Europe Gamescom visitors will get to try out the demo of the highly anticipated Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Trials of Mana will also make its global debut at Gamescom, and the latest of instalment of Life Is Strange 2 will also debut at Gamescom 2019.
