PS4 owners will soon be able to download a patch which fixes the crashing issues that have hit Anthem.
Not long after the launch of Anthem game reports emerged that the new EA and BioWare game was causing some PS4 consoles to crash and shutdown.
It had also been claimed that in a few cases PS4 consoles were left ‘bricked’ by the Anthem game bug.
However, BioWare has revealed that after a “thorough review” they have not come across an instance where Anthem ‘bricked’ a PS4.
It was also announced that a patch will be released on Tuesday March 12 that will fix the PS4 crash bug.
On Twitter BioWare’s live service boss Chad Robertson said: “UPDATE: We’ve identified several causes for the temp power-down crash some PS4 users experienced.
“Fixes for the top issues are in patch next week.
“If you encounter a game crash where your PS4 console won’t respond, you can manually power down and restart it – no risk of damage.”
Robertson added: “After thorough review, we have not encountered an instance where Anthem has “bricked” a PS4 console.
“If you are experiencing anything different, please reach out to @EAHelp so we can track the incident and investigate. Thanks for your patience.”
In a Reddit post Anthem lead producer Ben Irving also promised a fix for the level 1 defender rifle.
The bug means the basic loot is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, with a fix coming also on March 12.
In total the upcoming Anthem patch will make around 300 changes to the online shooter.
What’s coming in the upcoming patch was detailed in a post on Reddit.
