PS4 games Surprise as FINAL PlayStation Vita 2019 release arrives after Sony kills console

Sony ended support for the PlayStation Vita console earlier this year after the console failed to sell the millions of units the tech giant had wanted.

The PS Vita managed to sell over 15 million units during its extended lifecycle but we know now that there are no furthers plans for Sony handheld consoles.

So while the PS4 had PlayStation Vita support, the same has not been planned for the PS5 when it launches in 2020.

And it wasn’t long after production ended that Sony pulled official PS Plus support, removing the monthly free games from the calendar.

The content you have downloaded as part of your PlayStation Plus subscription at no charge is accessible as long as you are an active subscriber.

The exceptions are free themes and avatars, which you will continue to have access to, even if you are no longer a subscriber.

But the good news is that PlayStation gamers can grab the final Vita launch for 2019 this week, alongside its release on PS4.

Romancing SaGa 3 is limited to a digital release for now and is scheduled to launch tomorrow, November 11.

What makes Romancing SaGa 3 that little bit more special is that it’s a HD remaster for an RPG that has never been released in Europe or the United States.

The original launched in Japan back in 1995 and its taken all that time for it to get a release date in the UK.

As mentioned above, the Romancing SaGa 3 launching this week is a remaster, meaning it comes with a graphics upgrade, as well as new content and a game+ function.

It sounds like Square Enix is putting together the best version possible for launch in the UK.

“Originally released in 1995 for the Super Famicom (the Japanese name for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System) Romancing SaGa 3 is one of the greatest adventures of its time,” Square Enix explains.

“It was developed by some of the biggest names in RPG development, including the legendary Akitoshi Kawazu, director of Romancing SaGa, SaGa Frontier and THE FINAL FANTASY LEGEND.

“You pick a lead character from eight unique heroes, and recruit additional members to your party as the adventure continues.

“You’ll be able to take up to six characters into battle at a time, and engage in tactical turn-based combat against some truly fearsome foes.”

Other games will probably be launched for the PS Vita in 2020, however, a lot of these will probably be limited to Japan.

This is the market where the PS Vita proved the most popular and still has the strongest player base.

But the launch of Romancing SaGa 3 on PS Vita and PS4 consoles will be one of the last mainstream launches for the PS Vita.

If you don’t own either of these gaming systems, then Romancing SaGa 3 will also be available to download and play a ton of other devices.

Square Enix has confirmed that it will be launching digitally on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and Windows 10, PlayStation Vita, Steam, the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Gamers will need to head to their respective platform’s store on November 11, 2019, at which time they will be able to download the game.
