PS4 Free Game WARNING: Special PlayStation download available now

PS4 owners can now download a new title for free straight from the PlayStation Store.

And unlike some of the other recent trials released by Sony, this game can be added to your digital collection forever.

Path of Exile is a free-to-play developed by Grinding Gear Games which offers an Action / Role Playing experience.

It means that there is no countdown or limited time window that Path of Exile will be free to download on the PlayStation 4.

Path of Exile is the latest free-to-play game launched on the PS4, having originally launched on PC in 2013.

Since then it has received plenty of new content, all of which will be available on the PS4 version of the game.

It should be noted that The Betrayal content is currently disabled but will be added with an upcoming update, alongside Synthesis League improvements.

“Path of Exile has a steep learning curve, but balanced by nearly bottomless depth,” a message from the development team explains.

“If you feel like you’re getting stuck, ask for help or check online for tips. Or even try starting a new character!

“You’d be surprised how much farther you get on a second character with the lessons learned on your first.

“Earn devastating skills and valuable items as you fight your way through the dark continent of Wraeclast.

“With character customization, Path of Exile is an award-winning online Action RPG created by hardcore gamers, for hardcore gamers.”

As a free-to-play title, Path of Exile includes its fare share of cosmetic items to buy, including The First Blood Supporter Pack, which contains 200 points, an Extra Stash Tab and the First Blood Weapon Effect.

Fans can also buy the Core Supporter Packs and the Synthesis Supporter Packs. The prices are adjusted slightly because these ones don’t come with physical goods like the PC versions do.

The game weighs in at just under 10GB, making it a pretty easy one to fit on your hard drive.

It has an age rating of 17+ and has support for a number of different languages, including English.

Path of Exile has not received a review ranking on PS4 yet from Metacritic but has achieved a high score on PC.

It should be noted that while Path of Exile is free to download on PS4, you will need a PS Plus subscription to access multiplayer.

And if you do have an active PlayStation Plus account, you’ll be pleased to hear that the next wave of April free games will be arriving soon.

It won’t be long before PS4 gamers will be able to add Conan Exiles and The Surge to their digital collections.

Both games have been confirmed for PlayStation Plus next month and will be available from the PlayStation Store on April 2.

Until then, fans can download Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and The Witness, both of which have received favourable reviews.
