PS4 owners can download and play a new freebie from the PlayStation Store.
Just in time for the weekend, PS4 users can download a demo of Catherine: Full Body.
The new and improved version of the cult classic feature visual enhancements, new gameplay and music options.
With the full game not launching until September 3, it’s a great way of deciding whether or not to invest in the bizarre story-driven puzzle game.
“Looking to try something new and exciting?” reads an Atlus post. “Or are you looking for something more familiar and comfortable?
“No matter what you’re looking for, Catherine: Full Body has something in store for you. Try a tantalising taste of Catherine: Full Body’s main story with a free demo, available now on the PlayStation Store!”
Originally released back in 2011, Catherine is part soap opera-style life sim and part puzzle game.
Players control a character named Vincent, who gets cold feet when his girlfriend Katherine starts talking about marriage and babies.
After meeting a mysterious stranger named Catherine, Vincent begins to experience strange nightmares.
The nightmare sections introduce new puzzle gameplay mechanics where Vincent must move blocks to climb increasingly challenging towers.
Atlus explains more: “Our indecisive protagonist, Vincent, has been with his long-time girlfriend, Katherine, for five years. But instead of taking the next step into marriage, Vincent finds himself in an affair with the provocative blonde bombshell, Catherine!
“Thrown into discord by his own infidelity, he finds solace in the innocent Rin – further complicating matters.”
“Adding to Vincent’s dilemma, he begins having nightmares that force him to climb for his life… Will he survive the trials and tribulations of love, or fall to temptations?
“Packed with improved visuals and gameplay, brand-new music, enhanced multiplayer options, and much more, prepare yourself for a Full Body experience!”
The full game launches on September 3, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
