PS4 and Xbox One surprise update as Resident Evil 2 demo secrets found

The Resident Evil 2 demo is back with some surprise updates on PS4 and Xbox one this week. The special content was initially launched by Capcom as a 1-Shot demo, meaning you could enjoy for a limited amount of time. It was the perfect way to tease the launch of the Resident Evil 2 Remake, as many fans remember playing demo discs of the original.

And now Capcom has updated its RE2 demo for use on the PlayStation and Microsoft Store once more. It’s a good move, considering more copies of RE2 could be sold on consoles that have now shifted over 100 million units since first launched in 2013.

But not only has Capcom made it possible to play the Resident Evil 2 demo as much as you want, but gamers have also found something else lurking within it.

Following the official announcement of Resident Evil 3 Nemesis coming to PS4 and Xbox One, Capcom has provided a new Easter egg.

According to those who have been exploring the updated Resi 2 demo, there is now a horrible growl that can be found.

And this appears to be from the Nemesis itself, usually heard during the brutal boss battles that were optional to face in the original.

A scream from Nemesis can now be found in the demo when players arrive outside the Raccoon City Police Department’s front gates.

It’s a very cool teaser and something that fans of the original Resi 3 launch will immediately recognise.

Fans now know that Resident Evil 3: Nemesis will be releasing on April 3, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One and Steam.

And that means there is plenty of time for Capcom to add more little creepy Easter eggs for fans before the big launch.

“Just like the remake of Resident Evil 2 earlier this year, you’re in for a new viewpoint as you explore Raccoon City, with an over the shoulder camera placing you right in the thick of the action as you navigate abandoned streets and iconic locations,” Capcom confirms in a new message.

“Escaping the city won’t be easy, though; the undead still roam the desolate landscape, and there’s a much larger problem looming in the shadows.

“If you thought Tyrant (aka “Mr. X”) was terrifying, you’re in for a whole new level of terror when Nemesis comes to town.

“Made with one purpose in mind, Nemesis will stop at nothing to eliminate every last member of the S.T.A.R.S. team … and that means eliminating Jill before she can escape.

“More intelligent and, perhaps, more vicious than Tyrant, Nemesis can arm itself with weapons, like the iconic rocket launcher, or simply crush whatever stands between it and its mission.

“As if that isn’t enough, Jill will have to contend with the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service, or U.B.C.S., a private military force run by the very company that sparked the outbreak.”

It’s unclear at this time if gamers will unlock better weapon parts as a reward for facing Nemesis, or if this gameplay has been revamped.

Whatever is announced in the coming weeks for Resident Evil 3, fans will be on the lookout for new Easter eggs in Capcom’s current games.

There’s even the chance that Capcom will launch a Resident Evil 3 demo in the same vein, just before they drop RE3 in April 2020.

It would certainly prove popular with fans who have enjoyed the relaunch of the Resident Evil 2 demo on PS4 and Xbox One this week.
