PS4 gamers have a short window of opportunity to download and play a top shooter, regardless of if they have a PS Plus membership.

With a staying power that many weren’t expecting, this Ubisoft title has been made available to trial several times before on the PlayStation Store.

And for a limited period, Rainbow Six Siege is back as a free PS4 game on the PSN.

And the good news is that today’s test isn’t limited to just PS4 and PS4 Pro gamers, with the same trial available on Xbox One and PC.

The latest news suggests that gamers without a PS Plus memberships are having no trouble playing R6 during the weekend event.

And it’s a great time to test out Rainbow Six Siege, as this free version of the game offers access to all of the maps, modes, and Operators.

The Rainbow Six Siege free week started on August 28 and will be running until Wednesday, September 4.

The official time set for the end of the trial is around midday in the UK, so there is still plenty of time to check it out.

If you like what you see during the Rainbow Six Siege free week and want to get the full version, then you’ll be able to at a reduced rate.

Rainbow Six Siege will be available at up to 70 per cent off across all platforms for a limited time.

And any progress made during the Rainbow Six Siege free week will carry over to the full version if you upgrade.

“Command an arsenal of gadgets: Set traps, fly drones, track footsteps, see-through walls, and more,” the official game description reads.

“Lead your teammates in intense, fast-paced PVP matches with an online community of over 45 million players.

“An ever-expanding universe of Operators, gadgets, items, and events – updated all year long.”

Rainbow Six Siege on PS4 weighs in at under 20GB and does not feature crossplay features at this time.

Fans of free games also have a few other offers to check out this weekend, before the new PS Plus selection goes live.

One includes the new Genesis MOBA, which launched on the PlayStation platform earlier this month.

Like many free-to-play titles, Genesis doesn’t require a PS Plus subscription to play online.

However, PlayStation Plus members cans sometimes grab exclusive bundles as part of their ongoing subscription.

And August features a new PS Plus bundle for gamers checking out Genesis on PS4.

The exclusive Genesis Pack can be downloaded from the PS Store today and adds an exclusive Decal Flag, used for cosmetics purposes only.

Gamers also still have time to download and claim the WipEout Omega Collection and Sniper Elite 4.

These will be replaced on Tuesday, September 3, by Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III.
