Property specialist celebrates 30 deals in its first year

Allied Surveyors Scotland’s east coast office is celebrating its first year of operations with a flurry of property deals.

Over 30 individual transactions have been completed in the first 12 months with sales, lettings and acquisitions across six local authority areas including East Lothian, City of Edinburgh, Fife and the Borders.

Most recently, Allied Surveyors acted on behalf of Shaf Rasul’s SRA Ventures, whose 141 Dalry Road in Edinburgh has been let to a private tenant at £12,500 per annum on a 10-year lease.

Elsewhere in the city a 660 sq ft office suite at 12d Timber Bush in Leith has been sold on behalf of a private landlord for an undisclosed sum.

Meanwhile, acting jointly with Hastings Legal, a three-bed townhouse and retail unit at 5 Market Square and 2 Church Square in Duns has been sold to a private buyer for £212,000.

Also in the Borders, a former fire station in Kelso, which carries planning consent for two semi-detached dwellings, has been sold for £100,000.

“In our first year of trading we have successfully completed a diverse range of property deals, including these ones during the course of March,” said director of commercial agency (east), Iain Mercer, who is the son of the late Hearts chairman Wallace Mercer.

“Between ourselves and our colleagues in Glasgow and Inverness Allied Surveyors can provide comprehensive agency coverage as well as valuation and building surveying skills.”

Last week it was announced that Allied had completed their second retail acquisition on behalf of Edinburgh-based charity St Columba’s Hospice.

Allied Surveyors is one of Scotland’s largest chartered surveying practices with 32 offices, including three regional centres for commercial agency, employing around 160 staff.
