Prince William: Duke often breaks this major Royal Family rule when travelling

Prince William is set to become the next King of England after his father Prince Charles, 70. The Royal Family have a great number of rules they have to obey as part of their key roles. The Duke of Cambridge, in particular, as an heir to the throne, has an important protocol he is supposed to follow.

Because of this all-important lineage, there’s something the royals are supposed to do when they travel.

Heirs of the throne are not supposed to travel by plane together in case an accident happens.

This is to protect the royal line so that in the case of an emergency there is still an heir to ascend to the throne.

However, Prince William has broken the rule on a number of occasions when travelling.

DON’T MISS

In July 2017, the Cambridge family flew on a royal tour to Poland and Germany.

William, Kate, George and Charlotte all travelled together, meaning that two heirs were on the same plane at the same time.

This was also the case in September 2016 when Prince George, with his sister, accompanied his parents on their official visit to Canada.

In April 2014, George also accompanied the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their official three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia.

Prince Harry has also been known to break a Royal Family travel rule. The Queen’s grandson was due to fly back to the UK on completion of the Caribbean trip.

Harry was booked to fly back on a British Airways flight to London from Barbados, according to Kensington Palace.

However, rather than heading straight back to the UK, Harry opted instead to travel to Toronto, Canada where now-wife Meghan Markle was then based.

Such a decision goes against royal protocol as the Prince mixed business and pleasure.
