Prince Harry style: The Duke loves this J Crew jacket so much he’s got it in four shades

While royal style watchers typically like to dissect Meghan Markle or Kate Middleton’s stylish outfits, their husbands are often let off the hook.

But the Duke of Sussex is no slouch when it comes to occasion dressing and like the Duchesses, there’s a few brands he relies on.

Prince Harry appears to be a big fan of US brand J. Crew, particularly a blazer which he has in four different colours.

The royal’s smart casual blazer is a solid staple that’s served him well. The blazer is called the Ludlow Suit Jacket and is one of J. Crew’s hero pieces, available in a number of different colours, fabrics and styles ranging between £188 to £475. Harry appears to be a fan of the £188 cotton-linen version – a more breathable fabric ideal for these hot summer months.

Harry has reportedly worn the blazer 24 times since April 2018 in colours including tan, light blue, navy and grey, including over the course of his highly publicised Australia, Fiji and New Zealand tour.

Given Meghan Markle is also known to be a fan of the brand and its wrap coats, the Duchess might be lending Harry a few style tips.

Prince Harry enjoys a laid back style, channeling an approachable casual vibe at official events – often rolling up his shirt-sleeves, Obama-style. He also enjoys an accessory, ranging from the 90s puka shell necklace he wore as a teen through to his super high-tech black Oura ring which functions as a (very expensive) sleep and fitness tracker.

The Oura ring isn’t the only deliberate sartorial choice in Prince Harry’s jewellery box. On a more sentimental note, Prince Harry chose to wear a wedding ring and not to follow in the footsteps of Prince William and his grandfather Prince Philip, who do not.

William’s decision not to wear a ring was announced shortly before his Westminster Abbey wedding ceremony, with a statement from St James’ Palace confirming the news. An aide said: “It was something the couple discussed but Prince William isn’t one for jewellery – he doesn’t even wear a signet ring – and decided he didn’t want to. It really is just down to personal preference. Catherine will wear a ring fashioned from a lump of Welsh gold owned by the Royal Family that has been smelted down.”

When Prince Harry chose to wear a wedding band Penny Juror, author of The Duchess, noted the choice was a refreshingly modern one.

“I think it shows, as if proof were needed, that Harry is the least conventional member of the Royal Family,” Juror told Vogue. “Harry’s chosen to do what most married men do today.”
