The group’s new album ‘Celebrity Mansions’ is coming this summer
Dinosaur Pile-Up have released the video for their new single ‘Back Foot’, taken from their upcoming fourth album. Check it out first on NME below.
The Leeds trio, whose last album ‘Eleven Eleven’ was released in 2015, announced their new LP last month. ‘Celebrity Mansions’ is set to arrive on June 7 via Parlophone Records and was launched with the lead single, ‘Thrash Metal Cassette’.
As we edge closer to the record, the group have given another glimpse at new material with ‘Back Foot’. The track aired for the first time on Daniel P Carter’s Radio 1 Rock Show this evening (April 28).
After recently previewing the song’s accompanying visuals online, Dinosaur Pile-Up now premiere the video in full on NME.
The comedic clip begins with the shades-donning band driving around in a US-style cop car, before we cut to them performing the tune in a practice room. Later scenes take inspiration from monotonous 9-5 jobs, nagging parents, and dreary daytime TV – illustrating a modern-day thirst for fame.
A press release states that ‘Celebrity Mansions’ “is a record that sizzles with big melodies, skewered through with raw, intoxicating emotion.” You can pre-order it here.

Speaking of the new collection, frontman Matt Bigland said: “It’s a reference to when we were on tour, questioning whether we’d wasted our lives doing this, wondering if we’d ever get a break. I’d see what you’d call ‘Influencers’ on Instagram. Popstars making money from being attractive. People with seemingly nothing to say.
“And I’d just think, ‘Surely there’s more to life than this. Surely people want more than this. Surely they want some substance. I mean, we’re talking about music. It matters.’”
Following the album’s release, Dinosaur Pile-Up are set to showcase their new tunes at this summer’s Download Festival. The Donington Park event will be headlined by Def Leppard, Slipknot and Tool.
