Real will wait for Pogba move 

Real Madrid will use every available minute in the summer transfer window to land Manchester United star Paul Pogba. 

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Real will not “throw in the towel” as they move for the French midfielder.

Pogba is a top target for Real head coach Zinedine Zidane and he has also been linked with a return to former club Juventus. 

The Premier League summer transfer window closes on 8 August, but La Liga clubs in Spain have until 2 September to complete signings, meaning United have a long battle to keep Pogba.  

United in pole position for Maguire

BBC Sport reported on Monday that Marcus Rashford had signed a new five-year deal at Manchester United worth £200,000 a week. With Rashford now staying for the long term could he joined at Old Trafford by his England team-mate Harry Maguire? Sky Sports News says that United have “moved ahead” of rivals Manchester City in the pursuit of Leicester defender Maguire. United have upped their bid to £70m.

Longstaff and Fernandes on Ole’s target list

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has instructed Old Trafford bosses to sign Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff. The Daily Star says that the 21-year-old could make a £25m move to the Red Devils. Also on Solskjaer’s hit-list, the Daily Mirror reports, is Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes. United have reportedly agreed personal terms with the Portuguese attacking midfielder.

Spurs sign Clarke – then loan him back

It may have taken 18 months but Tottenham have finally signed a player. Leeds United winger Jack Clarke, 18, has joined Spurs for an initial fee of £8.5m and he will return to the Championship club on a season-long loan. (Sky Sports News

Ndombele to have medical

Another player set to sign for Tottenham is Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele. The midfielder will have a medical with Spurs on Tuesday ahead of a club-record £65m transfer. (Daily Mail)

Reds open to Coutinho return?

Reports in Spain suggest that Liverpool are open to re-signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona. The Brazilian left Anfield for the Camp Nou in January last year but has struggled to impress in La Liga. (Daily Mail)

Lovren agent in talks with Milan 

Dejan Lovren’s agent Predrag Mijatovic has reportedly held talks with Italian club AC Milan regarding a summer transfer from Liverpool. (Daily Mirror

Palace ‘incensed’ by Zaha bid

Crystal Palace have been left “incensed” by Arsenal’s move for Wilfried Zaha. The Gunners’s £40m bid will not even be considered by “furious” Palace chiefs and they expect a fee “drastically higher” than the £50m Manchester United paid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka. (BBC Sport)
