Spurs close in on Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur are set to smash their transfer record to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele. 

The Sun reports that Spurs have been given the “green light” to seal a £60m deal for the 22-year-old, who has been hailed as the “new N’Golo Kante”, his France international team-mate.

While the Sun says that Ndombele will cost Tottenham £60m, Sky Sports News reports that the fee will be £65m. Either way, Ndombele’s deal will smash their previous record outlay of £35m for Davinson Sanchez two years ago. 

Ndombele is expected to undergo a medical in the next few days before signing a five-year deal with Tottenham. 

Poch wants Leeds star Clarke

Tanguy Ndombele is not the only player who could be signing for Tottenham this summer. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is determined to land Leeds United winger Jack Clarke and the 18-year-old could move clubs for £8.5m. (Daily Mail)

Torreira happy at Arsenal

Despite reports linking him with a move back to Italy with AC Milan, Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is happy at the Emirates. Sources close to the Uruguayan have suggested that the Milan speculation has been “wildly exaggerated”. (The Daily Telegraph)

Perfect ten then out for Silva 

Manchester City midfielder David Silva has revealed that he will leave the club at the end of the 2019-20 season. Spanish playmaker Silva said his tenth year at City will be his last. “Ten years for me is enough,” said the 33-year-old. “It’s the perfect time for me. Initially, City were talking about two years, but I decided to sign another one, so I finished at ten years.” (Sky Sports)
