Premier League transfer news: Hazard, Pogba, Alexis, De Ligt, Luiz, Sessegnon

Premier League transfer news and rumours

Hazard heralds the ‘new Real Madrid’

Eden Hazard will be the first piece of the “new Real Madrid” jigsaw, Marca reports, and the Spanish club are confident that the Chelsea star will sign for them as soon as the current campaign comes to an end.

The Daily Mail says that Chelsea have “already agreed” Hazard’s exit and an announcement could be made on 12 May – unless the Blues reach the Uefa Europa League final.

With Hazard now almost certainly on his way to Spain ESPN warns Chelsea that the sale of the Belgium playmaker could end their status as a club that will compete for major honours.

Van de Beek instead of Pogba?

As well as Eden Hazard Real Madrid are also keen on bringing Manchester United star Paul Pogba to the Bernabeu. Pogba is Zinedine Zidane’s preferred option for his midfield but the Frenchman’s salary could prove to be a major stumbling block. If a move for Pogba does not happen Real’s “Plan B” is Ajax star Donny Van de Beek. (Marca)

Luiz talking with Chelsea

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri says the club are talking to defender David Luiz about a new contract but is not sure what stage negotiations are at. The Brazilian’s current deal expires at the end of the season and Sarri said: “I don’t know on David Luiz. I know that he had a meeting four or five days ago, but then my mind was on the [Eintracht Frankfurt] match. I didn’t ask him the result of it.” (Sky Sports
