Pregnant Lydia Bright thanks 'sisterhood' in emotional post following split


She revealed she is pregnant on Sunday, but has sadly split from her boyfriend, Lee Cronin. 

And Lydia Bright took to Instagram stories on Wednesday to thank her fans and ‘the sisterhood’ for their support after admitting she had been ‘nervous to share her news.’ 

Her post came shortly after it was revealed her big sister Georgia is moving in with her to help through her pregnancy and as a new mum.

Lydia, 29, said: ‘It has taken me days to go through all of my comments, my DMs, my WhatsApps, my texts since my article came out in hello this week about my pregnancy. 

‘I was so excited to share the news, but also really nervous because I was very honest in the interview.

‘I am one of those people who strive for perfection and maybe this is not the fairy tale I imagined in these circumstances and I was nervous about sharing that with the world.’

Breaking down in tears, she said: ‘I was nervous about sharing that with the world. Sorry…I’m hormonal.’  

She continued: ‘I am so grateful for the messages from around the world. I was so nervous it would be perceived badly.

‘I don’t know why, I just worry, worry, worry. But everyone has been amazing. I’ve had DMs from other women – the power of the sisterhood, women in similar circumstances – it’s so inspirational, uplifting.

Lydia has already said she is planning her gender reveal party for next month. 

She joked on social media the day before about her ‘really small bump’ ias her dad Dave and sister Roma predicted she’s having a girl. 

Wearing form-fitting workout gear, she said to Roma: ‘Obviously we have so much to celebrate. Tonight me and my Moo are planning my gender reveal party, which is in September.’

He chortled: ‘There ain’t nothing there… Are you sure you’re pregnant?’ 

Lydia agreed and said: ‘I have got a really small bump.’ 

Both Dave and Roma agreed that Lydia is carrying a baby girl, but Dave said he doesn’t mind what his daughter has.

Lydia is expecting her first child in February but she has sadly split from the father of her baby, Lee Cronin following an on-off two year romance. 

She told Hello! ‘It’s been so hard keeping this a secret. It just feels like the right time for it all to happen for me.’

‘It’s not the ideal situation. I waited quite a long time to try for a baby, waited until I thought it was perfect. I’ve always wanted the fairytale.’

Lydia – who hasn’t revealed the reason behind their separation – admitted she’s not ‘closing the door’ on their romance completely.

She explained: ‘I feel like I just keep getting knocked back. I can’t beg somebody to be with me, and I can’t beg somebody to love me.’ 

Their split may come as a surprise to fans, as the former couple were last pictured together at a restaurant opening in London on August 8.

Lydia and Lee briefly separated in January, which came just weeks after they discussed marriage and baby plans.

Announcing their shock break-up, The Jump star said on Instagram at the time: 

‘Sometimes relationships don’t work out but having time away to reflect on how lucky I am in my life, what I have achieved and who I have around me fills my heart with so much love.’
