Pregnant Ali Bastian just had a Hollyoaks reunion with her old co-stars Jodi Albert and Carley Stenson and suddenly we’ve been launched back into 2002.
Cast your minds back to Chester all those years ago and you’ll remember it was the Dean family that was running shop.
For the purposes of a quick refresher, you had sisters Debbie and Steph Dean (played by Jodi and Carley) bringing the glamour to The Dog and then Ali’s character Becca tied the knot to their brother Jake.
While Debbie remained elusive from the Deans after running off to work on a cruise ship, Steph married Max before he was killed on their wedding day (#stephandmaxforever) and later passed away herself from a cervical cancer battle.
As for Becca, after being sent to prison for having an affair with one of her students, she met a grizzly end and was murdered.
But while their characters may be long gone from Hollyoaks, the girls are still the best of pals so it seems, as Jodi and Carley are helping Ali to plan her baby shower.
Ali is expecting her first child with husband David O’Mahoney, due to arrive in March next year.
She revealed her baby news in an interview with Hello! magazine and told the publication she feels ‘incredibly lucky’ to have fallen pregnant, after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage on New Year’s Eve last year.
Sharing a baby update with fans, Ali took to Instagram with a snap of herself, Jodi and Carley together and called the former soap stars her ‘magical fairy godmothers’.
She wrote: ‘Lovely catch up with my girls! @carleystenson1 @jodialbert and @sarahjaynedunn in spirit! I am smiling from the centre of my being in this pic. Thank you for making me and bump feel so special. We couldn’t have wished for more magical Fairy Godmothers #lifers #18yearsoffriendship.’
Jodi added: ‘Gorgeous lunch/pre baby shower planning afternoon with my beautiful lifers.. my @alibastianinsta and @carleystenson1… @sarahjaynedunn had to work but she was on speed dial #alisbabygirl #cashmereblanket #ladiesthatlunch.’
Cute.
While Ali went on to star in Strictly Come Dancing, Jodi appeared on The Big Reunion with her former girlband Girl Thing. She is married to Westlife star Kian Egan and their parents to three children.
Carley, meanwhile, set her sights on the West End and tied the knot to fellow Hollyoaks star Danny Mac.
