In the moments before, the screen cut to all of the potential characters who could have orchestrated the plot walking outside.

Among them was Tasha, who is Ghost’s ex-wife in the popular crime series.

She has also spent the last few episodes growing more frustrated with her ex-husband.

Viewers will remember in episode nine, she told the police Ghost killed her lover Terry Silver (Brandon Victor Dixon).

The reveal left many fans worried Ghost could retaliate against her for this, so could she have taken matters into her own hands?

This combined with the increasing violence from Ghost towards her as well as his long-term affair with Angela Valdes (Lela Loren) means she has plenty of cause.

What’s more, throughout the series, fans have learnt Tasha will do anything to protect her family.

Following the episode, actor Naturi Naughton took to Instagram to post about the cliffhanger.

In one post she revealed: “Tonight’s episode is emotional for me, directed by the wonderful @shanasteinprod.

“I’m sending special love to my leading man @omarihardwickofficial who has led the Power ship since day one.”

However, Tasha is not the only suspect in the shooting as Ghost has been building up a number of enemies in the lead up to the midseason finale.

This includes Tommy (Joseph Sikora), Saxe (Shane Johnson), Dre (Rotimi Akinosho), Paz (Elizabeth Rodriguez), Tate (Larenz Tate) and Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr) who all had a serious motive to shoot him dead.

Viewers will now have to wait until January 2020 to see who was responsible and whether Ghost is dead or not.

This is when the show is expected to return for its final five episodes.
