Police were spotted at Caroline Flack’s home after the Love Island star was charged with assault by beating.

Pictures of her property in Islington, north London, show officers heading in and out of the front door with first aid response kits firmly under their arm.

Eyewitnesses claim that six police cars, including a van, showed up to the house at around 5.30am on Thursday.

They told the Daily Star: ‘I thought a criminal had escaped but then saw them running into her house. They were in there for over two hours.’

The 40-year-old presenter was arrested and charged for actual bodily harm, following an alleged row with boyfriend Lewis Burton – who is thought to have been taken to hospital.

Caroline’s rep shared a statement with Metro.co.uk, which read: ‘We confirm that Police attended Caroline’s home following a private domestic incident.

‘She is co-operating with the appropriate people to resolve matters. We will not be making any further comment for legal reasons.’

A police spokesperson confirmed the news, sharing a statement with Metro.co.uk: ‘Caroline Flack of Islington was charged on Friday, 13 December with assault by beating.

‘She will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December.

‘This follows an incident at approximately 05:25hrs on Thursday, 12 December after reports of a man assaulted. He was not seriously injured.’

It’s reported that an ambulance was later called for her 27-year-old boyfriend who is thought to have been ‘treated for injuries’.

The arrest comes just days before the ITV2 presenter was due to fly out to South Africa for the upcoming winter Love Island series, which is kicking off on 8 January, 2020.

It is not yet known if the arrest will affect her hosting role on the show.

Caroline teased the show when talking with The Sun earlier this year and said: ‘I literally cannot wait, it is going to be so hot. Probably the hottest one yet.

‘Cape Town, can you believe it? Love Island’s twice a year now, it’s going to be mad.’
