A police investigation has revealed that country singer Kylie Rae Harris was drunk and speeding during the fatal car crash that killed her.

Back in September, it was confirmed Kylie and a 16-year-old girl died in a three car collision in New Mexico. A third driver escaped with no injuries and at the time, the Sheriff’s Office said alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the crash.

It’s now been reported that a police investigation into the crash has revealed Kylie was drunk while behind the wheel and driving at high speed, before her car collided with two other vehicles.

“Data [from the cars’ on-board computers] showed Ms. Harris’ speed at 102 miles per hour at the time of the first collision event before crossing into the oncoming lane and striking Ms. Cruz’ vehicle at 95 miles per hour,” a spokesperson for the Taos County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement, shared by People.

It revealed that Kylie’s blood alcohol concentration was .28 – three times the legal limit.

‘The now-completed investigation supports what we suspected at the time of our initial investigation and my earlier press release that stated alcohol consumption was suspected and speeding was a factor,’ the Sheriff’s Office stated.

Kylie’s family also released a statement to the publication, in light of the investigation’s findings.

‘The family of Kylie Rae Harris received the toxicology report and deeply regret that alcohol contributed to the tragic deaths of Maria Elena Cruz and Kylie,’ it read. ‘No family should have to endure the heartbreak of losing a child.’

Eerily, Kylie’s final Instagram story was shared just hours before she passed away and was a video of her discussing family members that had previously died in Taos and a previous crash she was involved in with her dad and sister.
