Tyler, the Creator’s impromptu London concert, was cancelled because security ‘didn’t like what was going on.’

The 28-year-old announced his show on Twitter, shortly before it was locked off, with the rapper blaming the police in a follow up tweet at 3:10 pm.

Talking about the gig, which was scheduled to start at 3pm, he posted: ‘Too rowdy, cops cancelled it, go home, i tried, the gate climbing nail in the coffin, they go nervous, too bad was a cool idea.[sic]’

‘London i wanted to play new magic and earfquake so bad f******k. [sic],’ he added.

However, police have told Metro.co.uk: ‘The whole thing has been shut down because security doesn’t like what’s going on here.

‘Front management have shut the site down.’

A concertgoer also told us that she attended the show because she ‘saw his tweet and really wanted to see what the fuss was about.

‘I wouldn’t be surprised if he got banned again after this.’

Another fan at the show said: ‘I heard about Tyler being in London through a friend so rushed over.

‘There was no security or anything so it was quite confusing and after waiting for an hour someone on a megaphone said he wasn’t coming but no one trusted it so everyone just stayed.

‘But when the police came people started leaving.’

The show was taking place at the Bussey Building in Peckham, south east London but sources at the show told Metro.co.uk there was no security at the venue, and that punters were only told it was not happening when a man spoke out via megaphone to confirm the rapper would not be performing.

Fans were seen climbing the gates and ‘testing them to get on to the gutter’.

The show was announced a day after his new album release, and came after cryptic tweets of himself in London standing outside Buckingham Palace.

‘LONDON, IGOR, 3PM’ he shared on Twitter before adding: ‘LONDON IGOR 3PM; WILL UPDATE YOU LATER WITH LOCATION.’

He later gave further details, tweeting: ‘COPELAND PARK, BUSSEY BUILDING, 3PM.’

Confirmation of his performance surprised fans as in 2016 he was banned from the UK.

The musician, real name Tyler Gregory Okonma, was told the lyrics on two of his albums, Bastard and Goblin, posed a threat to the safety of the British public and this meant he could not perform at some planned shows that year in the UK.

Exclusion, ordered by the home secretary, is reviewed ‘every three to five years’ and it seems after nearly four years his ban was lifted.
